A casino player in Edinburgh was robbed of his winnings after being attacked by a gang of youths. The youths chased the man down Silverknowes Road at around 10:45pm. The man was then attacked and threatened with a screwdriver by one of the youths.

The 19 year old had won £100 at the casino.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “Although not seriously injured, the victim was extremely shaken and we are anxious to speak to anyone who has any information that can help us track down these youths.

“In particular, we are keen to speak to the driver of the silver hatchback who had to swerve to avoid the victim when he ran in front of his vehicle.

“Anyone with any other information that can help our enquiries should also get in touch.”
